OBJECTIVE
When you create extended higher boost condition or hard acceleration run conditions, the engine will be affected by more heat loading than normal. The eventual outcome is a condition whereby your BMW 335i performance will eventually falter.

Active Autowerke has seen this after simulating multiple back to back runs on the dynometer where the engine heat soaks and the factory intercooler cannot handle the excess heat adequately. As a result, the Intercooler overloads and the intake air charge is not adequately cooled properly.

When you have conditions like this, it seems logical that a larger intercooler over the factory unit would be a good solution.

These are the conditions that a reworked intercooler must address. The Active Auotwerke intercooler handles all of these and is built specifically just for the BMW E92 335i Twin Turbo.

CREATION
Using just the largest intercooler that could be fitted is the first step. Designing a dedicated tray to channel and ram the airflow would dramatically increases the intercooler's efficiency. Making a airtight seal also contributes to the airflow funneling properly with no air escaping. The Active Autowerke intercooler is designed specifically just for the BMW 335i Twin Turbo to collect and channels all in-coming air-flow properly.
